President Obama continues to ignore the laws of the United States instead of working with congress to change them. In an election year the president is trying to appeal to Hispanic voters by offering back door amnesty to young people who have entered the country illegally, but have been good citizen otherwise. The immigration department will not process such cases, but instead issue work visas outside the current law.
The bible tells us to treat the stranger among us fairly, not asking them to be subject to different and unfair laws. What the Lord expects is that we treat others fairly, but they are still subject to the laws of the land. The President should not do an end run around the law, but work with lawmakers like Marco Rubio, who advocates a path for those living outside the law to become law abiding. Mr. Obama’s current policy is self-serving and not helpful for the people that need real hope.
