Record breaking fires are sweeping across New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado and firefighters are at the mercy of drought conditions and poor land management. After the large fires that raged last year across the Southwest, officials knew the conditions were only going to get worse this year. Environmentalists and others would rather see our forests go up in flames that have even one tree cut down to benefit mankind. Commercial interests could have been used to create fire breaks that would manage the land instead of letting it burn.
The bible tells us that God created man to fill and manage the earth. As we move into undeveloped lands we are to manage those lands in ways that protect people and use truly renewable resources to best advantage. Because there are many who worship the creation more than the creator we go against the decree of God and try to keep people out and deny them access to resources of the God’s creation. Since the forest was meant to be consumed, that is what will happen one way or another.
