The Private Sector is NOT Fine, Mr. President

Brittish economist John Maynard Keynes

President Obama claims that the private sector is doing just fine.

“Where we’re seeing weaknesses in our economy have to do with state and local government. Oftentimes cuts initiated by, you know, Governors or mayors who are not getting the kind of help that they have in the past from the federal government and who don’t have the same kind of flexibility as the federal government in dealing with fewer revenues coming in.” Mr. Obama said.

Once again, the socialist ideal of Keynesian economics rears its ugly head. The belief that government spending, not private businesses, is what grows an economy is at the heart of the European model that enjoys such great prosperity currently.

The bible teaches that prosperity comes from the Lord. We are to work with our hands and live generous lives, seeking to obey God and His word. Socialism will never succeed because it looks to government for its daily bread instead of God, wealth is confiscated as it is produced and socialism discourages hard work and its rewards. The president and his advisors should turn from such immature policies and return to advanced economics that work.
