The National Day of Prayer is this Thursday. Prayer for our nation is a biblical mandate. We are to pray for our leaders and the world around us. We are to petition our Lord not only for the direction of our country, but the very souls of its citizens. Yet, many so called Christians will not attend the various gatherings this Thursday, most will continue business as usual.
The bible tells us that if we want a healing, a blessing from the Lord, we must humble ourselves and pray. This is not a call to the nation to pray, but to God’s people who are called by His name. Christians should be ashamed of themselves if they call themselves Christians and refuse to pray and seek the face of God for America. Our country is being lost to the enemy and our lives are too self centered to allow us to petition God for our neighbor.
