Are we witnessing the fall of civilization? Reports have come out that the White House was hit by several bullets. The bullets were stopped by ballistic glass and the walls of the president’s home in what appears to be a type of drive by shooting. This is but one symptom of the slipping away of America’s veneer of civility. There has also been an increase in the incidents of unprovoked beatings of the elderly in public. The occupy crowd are living like animals in public places and even law enforcement interacts with them poorly.
In the book of Romans we are told that the choice to ignore God and His ways will lead to people being turned over to a debased mind. As America and the world move away from the Creator as a whole, the grip on civility loosens and the ability to even recognize the truth and its principles all but disappears. We often quote the Lord in saying that Christians are the salt to the world around them. Jesus asked a simple question, What good is salt after it loses its savor?
