The President of the United States, Barak Obama, is suffering from a vision problem. Like the story of the emperor and his new clothes, the president cannot see what a child could see. He stated that America is better off after his first term as president. John Boehner responded with “are you kidding me?” Meanwhile, what can only be described as riots broke out in Oakland, CA and the unemployment rate holds steady at 9.1%.
Jesus tells us that there are those who believe that they are wealthy and have their sight, but they are really blind and naked and in need of Jesus Christ. There is truly a spiritual blindness that cannot see the truth of reality. Look at Greece, blindness has all but completely enveloped the people and its government. The question remains despite our great wealth, will we recognize that we must call upon the Lord for sight?
