Iranian Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani, who is facing the death penalty, has again refused to convert to Islam to save his life. The pastor has been found guilty of apostasy for preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and teaching from the bible. Speaker of the house, John Boehner has condemned Iran and called for the pastor immediate unconditional release. But the President and the left remain silent. Apparently, Christianity and freedom of religion are not among the human rights they are willing to fight for.
Jesus said that those who deny Him before men, He would deny before the Father. Pastor Nadarkhani has been given many opportunities to deny Jesus Christ, the latest just this last Wednesday. How would we fare when such a day comes for us? Will we like this Iranian pastor stand boldly and proclaim Jesus as King? I pray that we would know what we have believed and endure to the end.
